OpenStudy (jahnavi):

how do we define thrust?

OpenStudy (calculusfunctions):

A thrust is a force which pushes or drives a body forward or upwards. The force applied to an airplane that moves it forward or the impulse force driving the rocket upward are two examples of thrust.

OpenStudy (jahnavi):

then how do we exactly differentiate between thrust and pressure?

OpenStudy (calculusfunctions):

Pressure is the amount of force (acting perpendicular to the surface area) per unit area.\[P =\frac{ F }{ A }\]

OpenStudy (jahnavi):

how do we know that\[P =\frac{ F }{ A }\]? I MEAN HOW DO WE GET IT

OpenStudy (calculusfunctions):

Like I said Pressure is the magnitude of force per unit of area, where the force F applied is perpendicular to the surface area A.

OpenStudy (jahnavi):

thank you.
