in the books it says x^3 muplited by x^4 then you just add the 3 + 4 but when it did 9 + 3 i got 12 and i put ab12 then i got it wrong

nevermind i got it you had to do a^1 multiplied by a^1 and b^9 multiplied by b^3 then you do 1 + 1 which is a^2 and then you do 9 + 3 which is b^12 and i got that right. thanks for the help anyways.
