Bob, Jill, Kim, and Steve measure an object's length, density, mass, and brightness, respectively. Which student must derive a unit of measurement? A. Bob B. Jill C. Kim D. Steve ***I think it is either Bob or Jill?? Idk, please explain!! thank you :)

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

length would be measurements like meters, inches, etc density would be things like g/m^3 mass would be things like grams brightness ....not 100% sure, but I think they use candelas here as a unit

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah, brightness is candelas i believe :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cuz candelas are the units of light intensity :)

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

the only one that's using a compound measurement (ie it's made of two different types of measurements) is density

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the answer is Jill ?? because of what u said?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

there is no true density unit....it's a combo of two other units (grams and cubic meters)

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

so yes Jill

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhh and because of that, my answer is B. Jill ?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhh haha okay :) u posted right when i posted lol :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

awesome! thanks :) and the explanation was really good :)

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):
