x+3y=0 11x-2y=35

OpenStudy (anonymous):

from the first equation: x + 3y = 0 subtract 3y from both sides and get: x = -3y now plug x into the second equation : 11 * (-3y) -2y = 35 -33y - 2y = 35 -35y = 35 y=-1 now plug y back into x=-3y and get x = -3 * (-1) = 3

its for multiplication and Addition elimination and I am so clueless

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok i used substitution .. multiply the first equation by -11 and get: -11x-33y = 0 add it to the second and get : -33y-2y = 35 -35y = 35 y = -1 plug it back into the first and get x = 3
