Why does an object at constant velocity produce no force?

OpenStudy (dls):

F=ma a=0,since no change in velocity(v constant) f(net)=0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

More specifically beyond just formulas

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Because F=m*a and when you have constant velocity there is absolutely no acceleration. So if a=0 then F=0

When it doesn't interact or bump in to anything.
