Why would a diverse population be more resistant to the disease, predation, and invasion? (Sum it up for me)
resistant to disease because people are immune in adapting different things.
resistant to invasion because different people from different cultures will likely be in good terms.
Would that still apply in the terms of organisms?
a diverse population would be more resistant to these factors because, the organism number of species in a population can accomadate for losses by predators, resistant to disease because of the high tolerance range each member possesses, different immunity to different diseases and a more diverse population tend to out-compete other invasive species gaining dominance
Thank you, that was a great answer. Very specific. :)
Mind summing it up for me though? I have limited space.
Ok, no problem!
Could you sum it up smaller for me though? Not sure how to.
A more diverse gene pool increases the chance that there will be beneficial mutation and thus protects the entire population against extiction due to diseases due to lack of a certain immunity factor, i.e. a greater T-cell number or the ability to produce a certain antibody.
