I have two right triangles. One of them is bigger than the other and has one side labeled with a measure(for indentification, lets call this triangle: a). The other right triangle(b) has all sides labled with measurements. Based on this information about the these right triangles how do i find the two other sides of right triangle (a)?
Find a proportion from one side of triangle b and the same side of a, the use same proportion to find other sides. If one side of b=2 and same side of a =4 then proportion is 1/2 then to find other sides use 1/2 so if b=10 and you dot know a it is 1/2 of b so 5
I am confused on how you got 1/2. Could you explain how you got 1/2?
you can set up a proportion by using one side of the triangle divided by the other side. if a side of a=4 and a side of b=2 we can set up the proportion a/b or 4/2 which can simplify into 1/2
sorry 4/2 simplifies into 2 but how I got 1/2 is just because i did b/a which doesnt matter in a proportion like this
Thank you so much! I get it now.
