differentiate: f(x) = [(5x^4+20x)^3]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

We have three terms here: 1)5x^4 2) 20x 3) [5x^4 + 20x]^3 Differentiate each term individually and then put them together.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so then would it be 3(5x^4+20x)^2 * (20x^3+20) * (60x^2)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How did you getthe 60x^2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nvm I thought that you would have to take the deriv of 20x^3, I pretty much thought that it was the argument, thanks a bunch!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

We do that in the second derivative.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok gotcha thanks man

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No probs bro.
