Please help me :( Yuri solved the equation below incorrectly. Explain the step where he went wrong. b/15 - 1 = 29 Step 1: b/15 - 1 + 1 = 29 + 1 Step 2: b/15 = 30 Step 3: b/15 = 30 (divided by) 15 Step 4: b = 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Step 1 was wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Step 1 is incorrect because it does not divide each part of the equation by 15.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

he divided by 15 instead of multiplying, step 3 is wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@smileybug96 Step 1 says that you are dividing "15b" by 15 and "30" by 15. This leaves out the +1 in the original equation. Therefore, Step 1 is incorrect because it does not divide each part of the equation by 15....

Step1: b/15 - 1 + 1 = 29 + 1 the positive and negative one cancel..i dont see what you are talking about. he doesnt start dividing by anything until step 3. there is no "15b" in step one, only b/15, and even if he didnt divide both sides of the equation by 15, that's still wrong because he is supposed to multiply that since it is a fraction.
