PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN I have to write the equation of a line through C that is parallel to Line AB. The slope of Line AB is -3/4 (the entire thing is negative). Diagram's in the comments. Please help!
whenever you have to calculate the equation of a line that is parallel to some other line, know that one of the properties of parallel lines is that they have the same slope. so -3/4 is the slope of line that passes through C. the form of equation you are going to be working with is: y=mx+b now figure out what is given to you and plug the values in.
@cerabear can you do this please so I can help you because I don't just want to give you the answer.
I'm working on it. I'm not good at math okay
alright take your time.
Okay so here's what I did (I don't think I did it the right way) -3=-3/4(0)+b And then b=-3 Then I plugged that into the equation like so: y=-3/4x+(-3)
ok so how did you get b=-3?
oh i see you are right
my bad sorry
Anything times zero is zero which got me: -3=0+b Then anything plus zero gets zero; -3=b Turning it around; b=-3
you can further simplify your equation: y=-3/4x+(-3) to y=-3/4x-3 and this is your equation. Good job!
Awesome! Thank for the help! And for not just giving me the answer :)
you*
pleasure! :) i love helping others whenever in need.
