I don't get percentages. Lets say it's 80% off of $ 150.00 . How do you do that ? Explaining it would help alot.

OpenStudy (username123):

all you do is change 80 to a decimal (0.80) and multiply that by 150

OpenStudy (username123):

just divide the percent by 100 (thats how I got 0.80)

OpenStudy (username123):

then you take that number and subtract from 150

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So 80% off of 150.00 would be $120.00 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wrong!!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

usernamer 123

OpenStudy (username123):

oh sorry! what did I do

hero (hero):

It costs 150 then you subtract 80% off of the 150, therefore you perform: 150 - .80(150)

OpenStudy (username123):

yes that is what im trying to explain what hero said

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So first you multiply .80 by 150 When you get the product of that, you subtract 150 ? So wouldn't it be 150-120 then?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You must make 80% a decimal becoming .80. The new problem becomes : 150*.80=120 then subtract 120 from 150.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you said to subtract .80 from 150

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes that's correct annie.

OpenStudy (username123):

no sorry if thats what i said ! I said all you do is change 80 to a decimal (0.80) and multiply that by 150

OpenStudy (username123):

then you take that number and subtract from 150

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Finally ! I have a test tomorrow and I really didn't understand this, thank you so much.

OpenStudy (username123):

No problem!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hope we all helped in a way.. xD

hero (hero):

Doesn't matter what I said. The user understood. It's called order of operations @sandy524

hero (hero):

If you subtract 80% of 150 you have to perform the multiplication first

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well thats all that matters. dont be a wingspan i saw the message the first

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i said p.r.i.c.k but the site changed it to wingspan

hero (hero):

Because you shouldn't say such words. They are insulting, rude, and unnecessary. Besides that, I wasn't being one.

OpenStudy (username123):

well then.. im not trying to be just clearing up an issue so annie understood

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Come on now the problem's done and he gets it, no need to bring a problem here. We're here to study, just saying. Thanks. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You guys all helped. Don't need to argue. Make peace, not war ^__^ And Im a SHE. Thank you very much xD

hero (hero):

I'm not the one who brought the problem.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

LOL Sorry :x

OpenStudy (username123):

np!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Pics a lil small so i thought :X

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can I close it now? Just in case another argument starts up..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Your question you decide. :P

OpenStudy (username123):

lol sure! hope u do well on ur test

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you so much.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Good luck. ~
