Solve the inequality 6z – 3 < 15 and determine for which of the following value(s) for z the inequality is true. Show your work and calculations. z = -6, -5, 3, 5

Also please don't just give me an answer, also include an easy to understand explanation.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

6z - 3 < 15 (your going to want to isolate the variable z) 6z < 15+3 (we moved the three over) 6z < 18 (added) divide by 6 here z < 3

Please Elaborate?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So basically that's the breakdown. The first equation is as is. The second one we moved the three over to the other side by adding the three to the other side because it is negative by the six. That is basic algebra. Once you move the three over, it's now positive so you add it to 15 making it 18. To get z by itself you divide the 6 to both sides getting 3! 6 goes into 18 three times. I'm not too sure how to explain this simply over text but through my previous answer D:
