the area of a trapezoid can be found by multiplying the height of the trapezoid,h, by the sum of the lengths of the bases of the trapezoid, b1 and b2, and dividing that product by 2. Write an expression. What is the area (in cm2) of a trapezoid with a height of 8cm and base lengths of 4cm and 9cm.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

h+[(b1+b2)/2] which is 8+[(4+9)/2] 4+9=13 so you get 13/2 final: 8+13/2

OpenStudy (p0sitr0n):

A =(b+B)*h/2

I agree.

If the question asks for an expression, i believe you leave it like that. Otherwise, simply add 8 to 13/2 (13/2 is 6.5)

and don't forget the unit: cm2 :)

thank yuo:)
