OpenStudy (vortish):

rewrite the fractions with the least common denominator 1/3 , 4/5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What is LCM of 3 and 5?

OpenStudy (vortish):

15

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Correct. so both fractions should have 15 in denominator. Do you know what to do next?

OpenStudy (vortish):

no this is were i get stuck

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do you multiply each denominator by to get 15? for the first fraction, you multiply 3 by 5 to get 15. so you also have to multiply the numerator by 5 to get 5. the new fraction is 5/15. try this with the second one

OpenStudy (vortish):

if you do that then you get 20/15 for the second one unless you multiply that one by three and come out with 12/15
