C intersects D. Thats what the symbol between c and d is intersection. So intersection means what they both have in common.

marissa is right but she made a mistake in the first question. the answer is "c" and not "a". what marissa did is (c U d) which is taking all of the parts in c and "adding" them to all the parts in d. she explained it right though, so if you take marissas explanation, the intersection between c and d is all the numbers that show in c and also in d which are 3 6 and 9.
