This multi-step inequality, I'm unfamiliar with...can I get some hints for help? 3t > 5t + 12
what are we supposed to do,slve?
It's a multi step inequality. c:
3t > 5t + 12 subtract both sides with 5t, what do you get?
-2 < 12? o.o I'm more familiar with a variable on one side. :I
Where did the t go ? ^^
-2t* XD Sorry :u
what is 3t-5t?
3t>5t+12 subtract 3t from both as subtracting and adding don't change the inequality only multiplication or division with -ve no will reverse the inequality so -2t+12<0 t>6:)
Ooh. :O Thanks!
I get it now. :D
@Jonask u r wrong
Why not just perform the following steps: 3t > 5t + 12 Place like terms on the same side: 0 - 12 > 5t - 3t -12 > 2t Isolate and solve for t: -12/2 > t -6 > t
t<-6 right
Wait isn't it.... 3t > 5t + 12 - 5t - 5t ---- ---- -2t Then, -2t < 12 12 / -2 = -6. So it's it, " t < -6 "?
So isn't it*
I guess the question is, is there any difference between: -6 > t and t <-6
Think about it
no just make sure what was being pointed is still pointed
There's no difference
Exactly ^^
The reason I do it the way I do it is because I never divide by a negative
Ok, thanks everyone! :D I get it now.
Dividing by negatives and flipping inequalities is not my style
I like how you do it :)
Yeah, it's not my style either. xD
lol
Well i also follow the same style that is why i like it ;)
