Parth (parthkohli):

How was 1,000,000 expressed when zero wasn't discovered? This is a follow up question to http://openstudy.com/updates/508b8e84e4b0d596c460fbe1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

by counting fingers and toes?

Parth (parthkohli):

Seriously? A million toes?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

abacus?

Parth (parthkohli):

Who would stick an abacus to a paper? haha

Parth (parthkohli):

An abacus has a zero too, so it was invented after the discovery of zero right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ummm...ive run out of clever ways. likely the number zero existed when the other numbers were created, because people figured if someone has one object, and another person does not, that person has [insert number here] objects, a number representing nothing. or people just didnt care enough to count that high

Parth (parthkohli):

lol

Parth (parthkohli):

Zero was discovered before English was invented. :p
