A tutorial on dry ice :)
Usually, when there is a discussion about ice then there comes two types of ice in our mind:- \(\text{1. Ice which is freezed form of water.}\) \(\text{2. Ice which is falls in winter season.}\) Both of this are formed by water but there is third type of ice which is called 'Dry ice'.Dry ice is not made by water , it is mad by using carbon dioxide gas. It is so cold that it can frost bite our hand. Dry ice is also called solid carbon dioxide. In general form, carbon dioxide remins in gaseous state but when gas is forced five times more than the normal pressure & when it is placed in a very low tempereature then this gas squeezes & changes into a solid state. It looks like the normal type of ice so, the solid state of carbon dioxide is named as dry ice.It is very cold. Its tempereature is always nearby \(-110.2^0\) . The speciality of this ice is that after melting this ice does not turn into liquid , it urns into a gaseous state. In solid state,it looks like a piece of bun & after coming in atmosphere , it turns int gas. Its weight is much more than normal ice.A piece of \(\text{1000 cubic inch}\).
