What is homeostatic controls? I cant find anything on it!

OpenStudy (aaronq):

homeostasis refers to the balance organisms maintain regulated. e.g. when your body temperature goes up from exercise, you sweat in order to cool you body down, so sweat/sweat glands/etc would be parts of that control.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Homeostasis is basically your body's way of keeping itself balanced. This is done automatically. For example, when a woman is in labour

OpenStudy (aaronq):

i think clarkexo didn't finish his sentence, b/c a woman being in labour is not an example of homeostasis. anyway you can find more detailed examples here: http://www.pc.maricopa.edu/Biology/pfinkenstadt/BIO201/201LessonBuilder/UnitOne/Homeostasis/index.html

Contractions is apart of homeostasis is it not?

OpenStudy (aaronq):

i guess you can say that it is, since it does function as a unit. but contractions are more of a response to release of oxytocin, than the action of regulation (hormone release) itself.
