i have no idea on how to graph inequalities please help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

10x+30y\[\le\]1200

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

#1 - Ignore taht it is an inequality. Gather all your abilities to graph 10x + 30y = 1200 Or, first simplfy your life and graph x + 3y = 120. Tell me why this is hte same line.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u just divided by 10 to get the original just multiply by 10

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

No need to "get the original". It is exactly the same the way it is. Can you graph that line?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no i dnt know how to

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i havent graphed in ages

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

You're going to have to regain that skill. y = (-1/3)x + 40 is in what is called "Slope-Intercept" form. It gives you enough inforamtino to graph the line. The y-intercept is the point (0,40). The "40" on the end tells us this. The slope part "-1/3" is a little trickier.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how did u get y=(-1/3)x+40

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

I showed all the necessary steps in the other thread. 10x+30y = 1200 Divide by 10 x + 3y = 120 Subtract x 3y = -x + 120 Divide by 3 y = (-1/3)x + 40 Past my bedtime. Good luck.
