plz help ! difference among these 3 : 1) temperature 2) heat 3) thermal energy

OpenStudy (aaronq):

temperature is the averaged kinetic energy in a system. e.g. you have a glass of water and stick a thermometer inside, although the molecules in the water at moving at different speeds, the thermometer measures the average of all the molecules (in essence). heat is the flow of thermal energy thermal energy is the total internal energy of the system. This has to do with the kinetic and potential energies of the molecules, i.e. how fast the molecules are vibrating and their chemical bonds

thank you, i get what temperature is, i find very confusing seeing the difference between heat and thermal energy. when u said heat is a flow of thermal energy, does that mean, heat is like some current sort of thing ?
