HOW can i become a doctor while staying in New Jersey and at the same time attend public colleges?
Can someone with experience plz answer my question?
I am asking the question in the biology section because that is usually the major for medicine.

The most important thing is to go see the academic adviser for that public college asap - Medical school admissions is hard enough without taking classes that won't help. If you are not in college yet hopefully your high school counselor is good and check with them.

well the problem if i want to become any type of doctor, I should attend a 7-year medical program -which i hope to attend in Rutgers- but i do not get those programs. are they really 7 years including the undergraduate classes or are they in addition to the undergraduate classes?

It depends on the school and the program - but a seven year package would probably consist of undergraduate and graduate studies. Programs vary in how they treat practical experience - I've seen med programs with the typical 4 years of post graduate course work, where the last couple years focus on hands on clinical experience. I've also seen shorter ones that consist of 2.5 - 3 years of classroom based study but which require their graduates to spend extra time as an intern when they make it to the clinic.

Do you know if the 7-year medical program includes the general medicine jobs or does i have to specialize in a specific area such as optometry or dentistry?
