OpenStudy (gabylovesyou):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

–x + 3 > 7 -3 -3 ____________________ -x>4 -x/-1 > 4/-1 x>????

OpenStudy (gabylovesyou):

x < -4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yup :)

OpenStudy (gabylovesyou):

ok... WHY do you flip the sign?? i know you will get a false statement but why?

OpenStudy (gabylovesyou):

Why must you flip the inequality symbol when you divide by a negative number? You know that if the symbol is not flipped you will end up with a false statement, but why is that so?
