HELPPPPPPPPPPP

OpenStudy (anonymous):

rewrite the equation so that Y is the function of X

OpenStudy (anonymous):

HAAALP I NEED SOMEBODY HELP

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

7x + y = 13

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wow are you serious ? that is like first grade stuff...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and 3x + 5y = 15

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah im serious

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry im not smart like you

OpenStudy (sirm3d):

go sheng, you can do it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what you do to one side, you do the other for example...x + 1 = y is same as x = y - 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

one does not need to be smart to do this

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it y = 7x + 13

OpenStudy (anonymous):

negative 7 x you mean?

OpenStudy (sirm3d):

nope. the sign of 7x should be negative.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wow....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y = -7x + 13 ??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes justine..

OpenStudy (sirm3d):

correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what about 3x + 5y = 15

OpenStudy (anonymous):

get the y by itself first of all...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5y = -3x + 15

OpenStudy (anonymous):

justine how old are you just asking not trying to be mean

OpenStudy (anonymous):

waittt lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

now what do you have to do to 5y to make it y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y = -3x + 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5y = -3x + 15 isolate the y by dividing it by 5 to both side

OpenStudy (sirm3d):

you just need to kick out the coefficient of y by dividind each term by 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

even 3?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

since when is - 3/5 = - 3?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

justine what grade are you in

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The question is "rewrite the equation so that Y is the function of X" with in math language means solve for y because f(x)=y function of x = y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why do you care

OpenStudy (anonymous):

justine you wanna a help me find some derivatives using the chain rule combined with some trig rules?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it's y = 0.6 + 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-0.6x **

OpenStudy (sirm3d):

three divided by 5 is three-fifths, justine

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hahahaahahhahahaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3/5 is 0.6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes justine

OpenStudy (sirm3d):

-0.6 will do

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hey justine what's the probability that you will pass math this year?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

7x + y = 13 subract 7x from both sides and you get: y = 13 - 7x.....done

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im getting 89%

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hahaha...are you serious ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you like not try or something just wondering no offense

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah.. but im not gonna remember all the rules, equations, forms for solving -_-

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well there aren't really any rules in these linear functions...its just common sense really

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i mean i was doing these in first grade...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

good for you then

OpenStudy (anonymous):

all you need to know is move the y to one side to isolate it then multiply divide whatever in order to make it = y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i gotta go now, goodnight !!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5y = -3x + 15 divide both side by 5 and y = -(3/5)x + 15/5 y = -3x/5 + 3 internet + trolls = unpleasant......subtract trolls from both sides and internet = more pleasant

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank horrible math

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i am no troll, i am a legit open study user who helps others

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you are so welcome justine <333333

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and kantalope
