The highest temperature recorded in a city last year was ninety-two degrees Fahrenheit . The lowest temperature recorded in the same city last year negative five degrees Fahrenheit . How much greater was last year's record high temperature than the record low for this city?
?
..
Is there a part missing? This city and that city?
Is there a second variable involved?
Perhaps a graph of some sort?
well the problem is like this 92 and -5 but i dont know if i should subtrct or add
When ever you are finding the difference between to numbers you substract. The word for the result of a subtraction is difference
its like subtracting interger and adding interger and ok :D
In this case there's a negative number so you have to be careful of your signs
If it's referring to the same city, Just add 92 to 5. 97 degrees in this case.
don't just add 92 to 5. Subtract (-5) from 92. It works out to the same thing but the thought process must be consistent
So its 92 - -5 and it equals 97?
ok i think i get it now , thanks for help , @Mathmuse and @zordoloom
