can you show me step by step

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sure. Okay so lets split these equations, and solve them each individually. First is \[2x+1\ge5\] Subtract 1 from each side, We are trying to get x alone. Now we have \[2x \ge4\] Divide each side by 2, and you get \[x \ge2\] See ? Because 4 divided by 2, is 2. Now the other part, -3x>-9 We have to divide by -3, to get x alone. So -9 divided by -3 is positive 3. Negative divided by negative = positive. Also, the sign flips towards to other direction when you divide by a negative. So we get x<3 Think logically, x is less than 3, or x is greater than or equal to 2. This fits into one equation. \[2\ge x >3 \]
