Which function could be shown in the graph below? (will attach in a sec!)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

GRAPH!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Answer choices A,B,C,D from top to bottom...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

some fifth degree polynomial with positive leading coefficient

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and no constant since it goes through the origin

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh wait!! so my answer is this??/ letter B?? is the one i attached the answer?? :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and when u say constant, do u mean like a number??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes that would be a good choice

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay, yayy!! thank youuu :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah i mean for example in \(f(x)=x^3-x^2+8\) the constant is 8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhh i see... so if it were f(x)=4x^3+x-9, the constant is -9 ???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you can tell for several reasons another is that it starts at the bottom left and goes to the top right that tells you the degree is odd and the leading coefficient it positive then because it changes direction 4 times that means the degree must be at least 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i mean at least 5!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, in your example the constant was -9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hahha :) awesome! thank you sooo much!! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yw

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can u pls also help me with my next one?? http://openstudy.com/study#/updates/5095d85de4b0d0275a3cc037 i also tagged u in it :)
