OpenStudy (brinazarski):

http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t120/brinazarski2/photo-8.jpg In the figure above, if two points S and T are to be placed on the line l on opposite sides of point P so that 2SP = PT, what will be the value of ST/PT? I know the answer is 3/2, but why?

OpenStudy (aripotta):

ST = SP + PT, yes?

OpenStudy (aripotta):

SP = 1 PT = 2 so, ST = 1 + 2 ST = 3

OpenStudy (aripotta):

ST/PT = 3/2

OpenStudy (brinazarski):

Yup

OpenStudy (aripotta):

does that make sense? :)

OpenStudy (brinazarski):

Oh wow... I misread the question. Thank you! :)

OpenStudy (brinazarski):

Yeah, I thought the question was asking for SP/PT -.-; Opps heheh

OpenStudy (aripotta):

oh! you should reread the questions :) i misread all the time, so reading it again would help a lot
