I need som help solving and creating steps for this problem. I am not great at math so some guidance will help! :)) Remember to show all of the steps that you use to solve the problem. You can use the comments field to explain your work. Your teacher will review each step of your responses. What is the slope of the line shown?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

notice that there are two points marked on the line first point : (-2, 5) second point : (9, -4)

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

see them ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

thats it ! we just need ANY two points to find the slope using slope-formula

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y=mx+b?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

no, we will use below formula. slope of a line joining two points \((x1, y1) \ and\ (x2, y2) = \frac{y2-y1}{x2-x1}\)

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

slope of a line joining two points \((-2, 5) \ and \ (9, -4) = ?\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-4-5/9+2

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

perfect ! thats ur slope. -4-5/9+2 = -9/11

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh! Thank you! I understand clearly now!

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

glad to hear :) Also, the negative sign of slope indicates that the line is falling to the right side. which can be seen in the graph very easily - the line is falling to the right.

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

yw !
