What is the solution of the linear-quadratic system of equations?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Subtrack x on both sides of the first equation and you get y-x on one side, thats 2 so now you only need to isolate x on the first.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not sure I understand what you mean. does that make it y=x+5x-3 and y=2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No no no, just subtract x on both sides, you get:\[y-x=x^2+4x-3\]\[y-x=2\]With that you can do the following:\[2=x^2+4x-3\]Now just solve for x, and latter plug into the second to find y.

x=-5,1. Do I substitute both in and make two different equations?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, you do both
