I know this is chemistry but..Describe how protons, neutrons, and electrons each affect the charge and mass of an atom.
neutrons dont have any charge so they dont put any affect.. protons and electrons are always same so positive charges are balancd by the same number of negggative charges on electrons.
protons make an atom positively charged and add one unit of atomic mass. neutrons have no charge and add one unit of atomic mass. electrons are negatively charged to the same degree of protons, so one proton and one electron cancel each other out. one electron is approximately 1/174 atomic mass units, but it is commonly represented
the mass of electrons is not 1/174
