What are the subunits called that make up DNA? Is it Nucleotides or Phosphate/Nitrogen bases/sugars?
No I am pretty sure you are mistaken.
a phosphate group, a specific nitrogenous base and a 2' deoxyribose sugar
If that is from wiki answers. I posted this on here because I believe it is wrong
isnt phosphate/nitrogen bases/sugars what makes up nucleotides?
No i'm sure I'm right because i'm in AP bio and we already learned this chapter there are only three sub units a phosphate group, a nitrogenous base, and a deoxyribose sugar backbone.
those are the subunits OF nucleotides not DNA
thing is, Type that same question in but asking what makes up nucleotides and you get the same thing...
No the sub units of nucleotides are a phosphate group a 5-carbon sugar(deoxyribose) and a nitrogen base
I think you are both correct... DNA is made of the subunits: Nucleotides (PO4 + Deoxyribose + Nitrogenous Base), and Nitrogenous bases (3/4 N'ringed nitrogen attached). If I were asked: What are the subunits that create DNA? I would say Nucleotides.
