Write the equation for the horizontal line passing through (4, -6). A. y = 4 B. y = -6 C. y = 4/6 D. y = -6/4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Horizontal lines all have equations that look like y="a number" and that number is always the y-coordinate for every point on that line.

so b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah, b

I have another question If you are finding the line perpendicular to x + 3y = 5, what is the slope of the perpendicular line? A. -3/5 B. 1/3 C. 3 D. -3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You first have to find the slope of that line that you are given....you do that by putting the equation into y=mx+b form. Once you know the slope of that line, then your slope will be the opposite reciprocal of that. (opposite sign AND reciprocal)

how would that go step by step
