OpenStudy (anonymous):

find the sin(x+pi) in terms of x (HELP ME!!!!)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

- sinx

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what does that mean ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you walk me through it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that means angle lies in 3rd quadrant.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i still dnt get it how do i plug it in

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it sin(x=180) = -sinx

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or am i way off

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in 3rd quadrant sin ,cos, sec, cosec -ve but tan, cot +ve.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

IM FREAKING LOST

OpenStudy (anonymous):

using the trig identity sin(a+b) = sin(a)cos(b) + cos(a)sin(b) sin(x+pi) = sin(x)cos(pi)+ cos(x)sin(pi) cos(pi) = -1 sin(pi) = 0 and you get sin(x)(-1) + cos(x)(0) = -sin(x)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sin(180+x)= -sinx since sin is symmetrically opposite.
