How would i simplify? please explain

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{ 3 }{ 6 }+\frac{ 6 }{ a^2 }-\frac{ 6 }{ a^3 }\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

.5+6a^(-3)(a-1)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you please explain

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ah, I am sorry. 3/6 is the same as 1 half so there is that one. As for 6/a^2 and 6/a^3 ... we notice that 6/a^3 is the smaller of the two a * 6/a^3 is 6/a^2. Therefore we get 1/2 + 6/a^2 * (a-1)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no prob, thanks!!!!!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is that a .5 or 5?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm sorry i made a mistake. It is 3/6 which is 1/2. But it should be 6/a^3, not 6/a^2
