Please help me.
I don't understand how to solve inequalities like this.
1.) −2y−7>11
2.) 2x+1≥5 or -3x > -9

It is just like solving an equation.
OpenStudy (mathlegend):
So you are still trying to get the variable by itself @Guez
OpenStudy (mathlegend):
-2y-7= 11 @Guez would you know what ot do here?
OpenStudy (mathlegend):
to do when the problem has an equal sign
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Add 7 to both sides?

Right.
OpenStudy (mathlegend):
-2y = 18
OpenStudy (anonymous):
y = 9?
OpenStudy (mathlegend):
Then you know we would have to divide and get -9
However the original problem would say
-2y > 18
When you divide by a negative you must flip that sign
y < -9
OpenStudy (mathlegend):
I'm sorry negative 9 = -9

Okay, now some of the questions have a sub-question that asks,"Describe the graph of the solution". What do I do then?
OpenStudy (mathlegend):
Oh okay

What I mean is when I have the solution, it asks to describe the graph of the solution.
