Can I get some help dodn't know how to strat this and I don't really get it

Ok Well i don't know what article you selected, but here is the basics of evolution. Populations evolve because of environmental pressures. For example, flowers become rare and nuts become abundant, so all the birds with beaks better suited to eating nuts thrive, and the flower eaters become rare. Thus the general trend of that population is slanted towards producing more nut eaters. You could say that that population evolved to have stronger beaks for cracking nuts. The ones that are the BEST SUITED for survival will reproduce and their genetics will be passed on. how does this apply to antibiotic resistance in bacteria? Well first of all antibiotics are created to kill bacteria, but bacteria are a very diverse group and many of them have some adaptations that let them survive the antibiotics. When you take antibiotics all of the bacteria die, EXCEPT the ones with the adaptations to survive (just like only the nut-eater birds survived). So now we have a population of ONLY bacteria who can resist that antibiotic, and when they reproduce, all of their offspring will be resistant. Sooner or later a super-population of bacteria will evolve that is resistant to lots and lots of antibiotics. And it is all because we are "selecting" for them. -Dylan- you have my permission to use me as a source in your essay :p

Thank you I did not have in article to begin with

Can I use is

yeah you might want to change it a little bit.. maybe add an introductory paragraph of whatever. Here try this: Antiobiotic resistance is a growing concern in the field of medicine today. It is also a very good example of evolution, through inadvertent human selection, in action! In this essay I will briefly explain how populations change in response to environmental pressures, and then focus specifically on how bacteria are evolving.

Thank that is good start
