Did the colonists agree with John Adams' decision to represent British soldiers during the Boston Massacre trials? Yes, he was chosen by the British to serve as the soldiers' defense attorney, so they knew he had to accept. No, the colonists felt John Adams was a traitor for representing the men who had murdered American colonists. Yes, because of the sum of money he was paid, they understood why he agreed to represent the British soldiers. No, even though the colonists didn't believe the soldiers were guilty, they still did not want an American representing the British.
