HELP MEH
OpenStudy (anonymous):
You want an equation?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yes or no answer
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Er. I can get your an equation from that data, but you need to ask a question to get a yes or no answer in return.

Is the above relationship a linear function?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Welllllllll.... What does linear mean?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
its no right?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
You are guessing. Do you have any idea of where to start?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yes

Then what do you have so far?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
its no because it dosent go in right
OpenStudy (anonymous):
You have two points: (0,46) and (1,39) does that have a linear slope?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
no
OpenStudy (anonymous):
And why not?

OpenStudy (anonymous):
becuase 0,46 and 1,39 dont have a leaner slope
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Well, what is the slope of those two points?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Hmmmm i dont no?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
D':
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Okay: So slope =
\[\frac{ y _{2}-y _{1} }{ x _{2}-x_{1} }\]
Pick two points and put them into that formula. Then pick another two and see if they match.

From what to what has a slope matching what to what?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
X2 and v 1
OpenStudy (anonymous):
What? Use the context of the problem to define what you are saying.

ill take it as a no
OpenStudy (anonymous):
o- 24 answers no
OpenStudy (anonymous):
its no right??????
OpenStudy (anonymous):
You do realize that if you took the time to do what I posted 5 minutes ago you would've realized how simple this is?
Find the slope from (0,46) to (1,39) and then from (1,39) to (2,32) and see what each is.
OpenStudy (nubeer):
try finding the difference between consectutive points.. means point1 -point 2
then point 3-point 2 if both have the same value then your relation is linear , if not same answer then its not linear.
