find the zero of f(x)=3/4x-12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think you missed an x somewhere.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ah you're right! f(x)=3/4x-12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The "zero" is when this graph crosses the x-axis and therefore has a 0 for y. f(x) =y and you want y to =0 so f(x)=y=0 or f(x)=0 So: 0=3/4x -12 Now solve for X.

16?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes. So the zero is where x = 16 and y = 0 or (16,0)

hoorah! thank you :D
