what is standard form?
Standard form is the way you write any number normally. Like writing five thousand and six in stand form would be 5006
Standard form is a way to write an equation for a graph. Standard form: ax+by+c=0, where a is always positive and the coefficients are integers (that is they are not fractions or decimals)
Hold on are you talking about standard form as in writing an equation of a line in standard form or writing a number in standard form?
The "Standard Form" for writing down a polynomial is to put the terms with the highest degree first (like the "2" in x2 if there is one variable).
well thlve this?? Write the equation y - 2 = 4(x + 5) in standard form
standard form is Ax + By = C. A cannot be a fraction or a negative number
um what?
i gotta walk my dog. i'll explain when i get back!
It depends on what you want to write the standard form of.
Write the equation y - 2 = 4(x + 5) in standard form
Each type of number (numerical expression) or algebraic expression, or equation has its own established 'standard' for how it is written.
ok but what do i do?? @( confused
That is a linear equation. The standard form for linear equations is Ax+By=C, where A,B, and C are integers.
Simplify both sides, the get all your x's and y's on one side and all the constants on the other.
is x and y changed to a nad b?
Correction: General Form: ax+by+c=0 Standard Form: ax+by=c Slope-intercept form: y=mx+b
ok so oh dear i dont get it...
you're basically moving the x to the left side
but you have to make sure that the coefficient of x isn't a fraction or negative number
4x=y-22?
you have to keep y on the left side
it's Ax + By = C
so x and y are on the left
4x - y = -22 right?
yup. good job :)
YAY thank you God bless
lol no problem
i got it right on the quiz thanks for heling me understand it!
