The graph of a system of equations will intersect at exactly 1 point. always sometimes never. i think its never but everyones sayin it sometimes..

OpenStudy (kainui):

Why do you think it's never?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk i jus thought it was never.. but i figured it out. it was sometimes..

OpenStudy (phi):

a simple "system of equations" would be 2 equations each equation could be the equation of a line the lines could meet. If so that is the solution but the lines could be parallel to each other. they never meet. so no solution or the lines could lie on top of each other, in that case, many solutions

OpenStudy (kainui):

If you look at two lines graphically, you can arrange them in three ways: |dw:1353106801062:dw|So in the first case I showed two parallel lines where they never intersect, the second case they intersect at only one point, and the third both lines are the same line, and so they intersect at infinitely many points!
