I have an F in my AP English Language class right now and my teacher said he'll most likely to give me an F since the grades are due on December 14 and he said I'm finished, which means I failed. Same thing with AP Bio class. Do I still have the chance of getting into MIT? I really need help.
I attend a different college, but I assume if talking with your teacher didn't work then you should talk to your Dean. Sometimes they are able to help, good luck!
I actually did. But it was him who suggested me to talk to my teachers and they insult me like this. What I want to know is that, can I still get into MIT with these 2 F's?
How could we know? We're not admissions officers for MIT. Did you try looking at the MIT website? In two minutes I found a page that said "there's no magic formula" for getting into MIT. With that said, other sites I read claim that most of those who get in have straight As throughout high school and score above 2200 on the SATs. You might want to look at going to a college, and transferring to MIT after 2 years.
But really, if you can't handle high school courses, why would MIT expect you to handle theirs?
Anywho, it's not like MIT is the ONLY path you must take to your future dreams. Sometimes people take other alternatives and still end up fulfilling their dreams. Sometimes it might take a detour. So if anything, start working hard now to get your grades up in second semester. Attempt to apply to MIT no matter what--even if u feel if you personally won't get accepted. I believe there's a place in the application where you can explain some things about your grades (don't take this for sure though, i haven't applied to college yet either). You'll be amazed at some admission stories i hear. Since it's November now, try to get some things from an F to a D at least, heck, maybe a C if a miracle happens. Just know that it won't be the end of the world for MIT and that it's too early to give up. If Plan A fails, there's still 25 more letters of the alphabet. P.S. Your teacher suck. No teachers should be allowed to discourage their students in such a way. They should not simply say that you're going to fail, they should at least also talk about how you can improve for future work and what not.
Also, you have openstudy to help you :D
Lotus, thank you so much. You've made me even more determined than I was before.
