Dividing by fraction is the same as multiplying by the reciprocal (of the denominator = fraction on bottom). So multiply by reciprocal.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what the reciprocal?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The reciprocal of 3/5 is 5/3.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So the reciprocal of (x+12)/6 is 6/(x+12)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

tthis is confusing, so now i have to multiply 3 by 6?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You can leave the top fraction by itself (x+3)/9. However you need to multiply the top fraction by the reciprocal of the bottom fraction which is 6/(x+12). Multiplying fractions means you multiply the tops for the new top part of the resulting fraction and the resulting bottom part of the fraction would be the product of the bottom two parts. a/b * c/d = ac/db

OpenStudy (anonymous):

would it be (x+3)(x+12)/6 ?
