How would you solve the equation 2x^3+x^2-16x-15+0?

i'm guessing you mean 2x^3+x^2-16x-15=0? assuming this thing factorises, you should be able to present this as a multiple of 3 factors for example (x-1)(x+1)(x+2). You should try out different values for x and which ever one will give you zero as a result would be a factor. For example (x+1). if you input -1 into the above equation you will find it equal to 0. So now you have (x+1)(ax^2+bx+c) = 2x^3+x^2-16x-15 it should be easy to work out the letters and factorise the equation in the second brackets
