OpenStudy (mrsmack):

I have an equation that shows a greater sign > with a line underneath. In what equation do you use this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[3\ge2\] means 3 greater than or equal to 2

OpenStudy (mrsmack):

Right, but when do you use that symbol instead of > or =?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you use \[\le and \] if the two values can be the same. This notation is usually used with variables such as\[x \le3\] and means that x can take any value less than three and it could be three where as\[x <3\]simply means x is less than three but cannot take the value of 3.

Thank you!
