I know there is a yahoo answers question for this, but I don't trust that.
I like to call it cancer :P
In theory a cell can never do a unlimited mitosis becuase of the telomere. Eveytime a cell devide the telomere is being shortned a bit, and when the telomere is gone the cell can no longer devide it self and dies. BUT cancer have a special property: the telomere is not shortned so the cell don't die but can just continue devide it self.
Ok...so then the animal would become a giant cancerous tumor?
Might just die first ;)
So..the animal would grow and die.
You can say that... cancer is very badly said when a speical cell type become able to divide it self forever and is infecting neighboring tissue. Think about bone cancer.. it infect the nerve cells creating a acid that etches the nerves (can tell you that hurts alot btw)
I was just talking with a classmate, and supposedly the cells would never undergo cytokinesis...
Hmm... a posibility i did not think about. It could be, it never get out of the mitosis phase and then it don't do cytokinesis true, however you need to look at the molecules involved in the checkpoints.... the question is unclear when it comes to that.
So the question is: `Does it come out of the mitosis phase + your question: If yes: cancer. If no: no cytokinesis.
I don't know. I'm going to go with that the cells just go through mitosis and die from remaining in a pre-cytokinesis state because of the SA:V ratio.
Sure ^^ Yea sorry I did not think about it in the first place.
