(n+2)x4=28 whats n

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

The equation is asking what number added to 2 and then that result multiplied by 4 is 28?

OpenStudy (hba):

@skullpatrol Let her solve it.

OpenStudy (hba):

@melissadavilamoya Why don't you try to solve it and we can correct you where you go wrong :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (hba):

Show us your working ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is n=5

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

Whatever answer you get it must satisfy what the equation is asking for: The equation is asking what number added to 2 and then that result multiplied by 4 is 28?

OpenStudy (hba):

Just plug in 5 in your question if, LHS=RHS then you nailed it right @melissadavilamoya

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

(n+2)x4=28 You think n=5 Check: ((5)+2)x4 =?= 28

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes thats the answer

OpenStudy (hba):

Awesome you nailed it :D

OpenStudy (hba):

Here you go a medal for you :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeaaaaaa

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

@melissadavilamoya how do you know that is the answer?

OpenStudy (hba):

^ Nice ques ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because \[4\div28=7-2=5\]

OpenStudy (hba):

Did you check it by plugging in 5 in your question ?

OpenStudy (hba):

Whether you did it right or wrong.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (hba):

Then you are Awesome :D

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

@melissadavilamoya what grade level are you in?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

8

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

\[4\div28\neq7-2 =5\]

OpenStudy (hba):

lol

OpenStudy (hba):

@melissadavilamoya Please show the right working ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its 5 because 4x7=28 so you would do 7-2=5 there you go! =)

OpenStudy (zzr0ck3r):

4*(n+2) = 28 distribute the 4 4n+2*4 = 28 4n+8 = 28 subtract 8 from both sides 4n = 20 devide by 4 n = 20/4 = 5
