Factor each completely. 24az −18ah+60yz −45yh does anyone know how to do this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Factoring by grouping seems appropriate.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you explain please?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sure. Factor just the first two terms and let me know what you get.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(though, a good first start is to factor out a GCF from all the terms)

Ok, so as Cliff said, you deal with it first in groups: (24az-18ah)+(60yz-45yh), this gives you: 6a(4z-3h)+15y(4z-3h), now you can group the like terms: (6a+15y)(4z-3h), to prove it works, expand the equation: (6a*4z)-(6a*3h)+(15y*4z)-(15y*3h) and get back 24az-18ah+60yz-45yh
