How do you Solve the system by the substitution method 2x - 3y = -13 y = 2x + 7

hartnn (hartnn):

substitute y= 2x+7 in the first equation like write 2x+7 in place of y in 2x-3y = -13

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

just replace y in first equation by 2x + 7 and solve for x then use this value of x in the second equation to find y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

currently y = 2x + 7 you can take that and substitute the y value in the first equation for that value and then you can solve for x then take that x value you find and put it into the above equation of y to solve for y
